Location
Posada Del Quinde is located in Otavalo, a small town in the North of Ecuador. Otavalo is approximately 2 hours north of Quito by bus. There are many buses which go from Quito to Otavalo.
To lay your head
Posada Del Quinde has an large selection of single, double and twin rooms which look out onto the immaculate gardens. There are also two large penthouse style apartments which have some incredible views. The rooms are warm, spacious and cleaned daily. In each room there is a writing table and chair which looks out over the gardens lending to a very quaint creative atmosphere
Eating
The food served in the restaurant is top quality and very well priced. The chefs provide a varied selection of offerings, including a large vegetarian range which is something we were really happy about. Having breakfast served on the patio with hummingbirds flying around and the sun shining is quite an incredible way to begin any day of your life.
Wifi
The wifi works really well in the restaurant area. This includes some lovely couches which surround an open fire which blazes in the evenings. There is also a computer available if you don’t travel with your own.
Activities
There are the infamous markets in Otavalo town where you can buy everything your heart desires. You can also book in with a local shamans or experience traditional back strap loom weavers making cloth the same way they have done for hundreds of years.
Music and entertainment
If you are looking for a taste of local culture from the comfort of your hotel, on Friday evenings there is a great local band that comes to play. This is a lovely experience and you can enjoy a meal, glass of wine or a local brew and soak up the atmosphere in front of the open fire. Very enjoyable.
